About Finland
Finland has land borders with Russia to the east and – to the north – Norway and Sweden. This Scandinavian country has approximately 188,000 lakes (about 10% of the country) and a similar number of islands. In the far north of the country you can see the Northern Lights in winter and the Midnight Sun in summer. The Finns also claim that the mythical Mount Korvatunturi is the home of Santa Claus, and Lapland’s thriving tourism industry caters to Santa Claus fans.
