Explore the 2022 World Cup stadiums in Qatar.. Qatar is preparing to host the World Cup between November 21 and December 18, 2022, and the draw was held and the match schedule was announced earlier.

The 2022 World Cup will not only be the first tournament to be held in the Arab region, but it will also be the most compact tournament allowing fans to attend more than one match per day.

To deal with the high temperatures during the summer, all stadiums, training facilities and fan areas are equipped with solar cooling technology to maintain the temperature at an average of 27 degrees Celsius.

All stadiums will be environmentally friendly and temperature controlled.

The tournament will be played in 8 stadiums, some of which were designed specifically for this version of the World Cup.

1. South Stadium

This stadium is located in Al Wakrah, 18 kilometres from Doha, and has a capacity of 40,000 seats.

The stadium is part of a wider sports complex, which includes cycling and horse riding tracks, shops, restaurants and sports clubs.

The stadium design, designed by architect Zaha Hadid Stunning, it lives up to the standard of absolute perfection: “Its graceful lines and flowing curves are inspired by traditional dhow boats.

What's even more amazing is the air conditioning in the stadium. It's 40 degrees outside at noon on a Gulf summer day. And that, plus the extreme humidity.

But, inside the stadium, in the seats, in the dugouts and on the side of the pitch, the temperature is pleasant (25°C), ideal conditions for playing or watching football.

Furthermore, small vents under the seats circulate air from outside that is cooled using solar energy.

2Education City Stadium

Education City is located in Al Rayyan, southwest of the capital Doha.

Education City – home to the stadium – is so named because the complex includes campuses of several Western universities including University College London, as well as Georgetown and Cornell in the United States..

The stadium has a capacity of 40,000 spectators and is shaped like a jagged diamond.

The stadium is easily accessible either by land, or by using the subway, which eliminates the need for a car.Light longer than necessary in high heat.

Following the FIFA World Cup, the stadium will retain 25,000 seats for university sports teams.

3. Al Bayt Stadium

This 60,000-seat stadium is located in Al Khor on the east coast of Qatar.

Al Bayt Stadium is supposed to look like a traditional Bedouin tent with a very distinctive box design that even includes guide ropes like an actual tent.

The stadium's design combines an important part of Qatar's past with its present while being a model of environmentally friendly development and sustainability.

This stadium will host the opening match between Qatar and Ecuador as well as the semi-final match.

It will retain its 60,000-capacity capacity after the event ends.

Al Bayt Stadium

 

4. Lusail Stadium

Lusail Stadium is located in the newly established Al Daayen Municipality.

The new Lusail Stadium is considered one of the most important World Cup stadiums in Qatar, as it will host the closing ceremony of the 2022 World Cup.

Fans will be able to reach matches via updated roads, the Doha Metro, or the Lusail City Light Rail Transit service.

They can also spend their time in the various parks or in the planned entertainment city.

5. Al Thumama Stadium

World Cup stadiums often try to incorporate some cultural and aesthetic elements from where they are located.

For example, Mbombela Stadium in South Africa has zebra-patterned seats and giraffe-shaped roof supports, a nod to the wildlife on display in nearby Kruger National Park.

In the same context, Al Thumama Stadium was designed to look like the gahfiya (the traditional hat worn under the ghutra and agal) in the Arab world.

This design was chosen because it is a common cultural denominator among Arabs in various Arab countries, and therefore it expresses the cultural depth and intertwined historical and cultural heritage of Arab countries.

Al Thumama Stadium is located in the southern districts of Doha, just a few minutes away from Hamad International Airport.

It will have at least 40,000 seats, which will be reduced to 20,000 after the tournament and donated to developing countries.

6. Khalifa International Stadium

It is an international football stadium in the country. Qatar.or also known as National Stadium It is a multi-purpose stadium in Doha, with a capacity of 40,000 seats.

It is part of the Sports City complex, which also includes: Aspire Academy Aspire Tower.And Hamad Aquatic Complex, and Aspetar Sports Medicine Hospital , and many other sports facilities.

7. Ahmed Bin Ali Stadium

Ahmed Bin Ali Stadium is located in Al Rayyan, outside Doha.

It has been expanded to accommodate up to 40,000 spectators using mobile units to form the upper section ahead of the 2022 World Cup.

Ras Abu Aboud Stadium project is a pioneering project in the field of sports stadium construction.

This stadium was built from shipping containers, and will be completely dismantled and the materials used in the construction reused.

The stadium is located minutes away from Hamad International Airport, and overlooks the Gulf coast and the stunning skyscrapers of West Bay.
