Guarda is the highest city in all of Portugal, and it's a bit grey because almost all of its buildings are made of granite.
This is due in large part to the fact that the city was protecting its inhabitants from the Spanish invaders.

While the city is a bit drab, there are many old churches, palaces and houses worth stopping by.
