1. Lake Iskenderkhol

2. Dushanbe – the capital
Dushanbe is the capital of Tajikistan. The elegant streets lined with pretty pastel facades belie the violent civil war that ravaged the city's streets in the 1990s.

3. Pamir Highway
The Pamir Highway connects Tajikistan with neighboring Afghanistan, Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan.

5. Karakol Lake

Lake Karakol is located in Tajik Pamir National Park , which is the main attraction of Karakol village. Walk around, and you will appreciate the unique atmosphere.
The sparkling blue waters of the lake are enchanting, as are the reflections of the beautiful landscape and snow-capped peaks in the water.
Be mesmerized as you gaze at the peaks of Lenin and Ibn Sina standing tall in all their glory against the deep blue sky.
Spend a night in Karakol for extraordinary views of the Milky Way and to watch unique bird species in and around the lake in the morning.
A walk around this area will give you great views of the lake, village and mountains.

6. Valley and village of Gisev
The beautiful mountain village of Gisev is the perfect getaway in Tajikistan. Wander around the village to see the sights or take short trips along the vibrant lakes. The rugged mountains and sprawling forests create a unique atmosphere.
There are a few houses in the village arranged together in a cluster of 2-3 houses each.
Vehicles do not go to Gisev. After crossing the river, you will have to walk for 2 hours to reach Gisev Valley.

7. Pamir Mountains

Much of the Wakhan Valley is located in the northern region of Afghanistan, but part of it extends into Tajikistan.
The arena of colonial competition between Tsarist Russia and Britain during The Great Game (1830-1895), the Wakhan Valley in Tajikistan is now a peaceful region.
See the ruins of the 12th century Yamchun Fortress, which speaks volumes about Wakhan history.
Several other castles located at the top of the hills offer extraordinary views of the surrounding areas.
The people here are hospitable, and the scenery is stunning.
