3. Bjelavicka Forest National Park

It is a memorial complex erected in the city of Brest standing on the site of the original fortress, and is dedicated to the heroes of the Great Patriotic War. The site features preserved parts of the original ruins of the castle as well as the ramparts, and there are also modern art installations including memorial structures located on the site.

The castle is built in the shape of a star, and there is a central island in the middle on which the main castle of the castle is located, which was carved naturally by the surrounding Bug River.

6. Pripyatsky National Park

8. City of Lleida

Located in western Belarus, the city of Lida is home to Lida Castle, which was first built in the 14th century.

The castle is famous for its trapezoidal shape, as well as its crimson walls resulting from the decorative brickwork.

Also of interest in Lleida is the Church of St. Joseph, a functioning church that is immediately recognizable because of the dome that tops the main building, which was built in the 18th century.

9. Priestley Archaeological Museum

One of the most unique museums in all of Belarus, the Priestley Archaeological Museum is located on an important archaeological site outside the city of Brest dating back to the 13th century.

The site is a former timber town that was excavated in the 1960s. It was turned into a museum in the 1980s when a roof was placed over the site.

Visitors to the area can see 28 traditional log cabins as well as 1,400 artifacts from the region that give an amazing glimpse into life in Belarus in the old days.

10. Polotsk city

Polotsk is famous for being the oldest city in Belarus. It was first mentioned in 862. It is a place of historical and architectural importance and has a whole range of heritage buildings for visitors to explore.

The Saint Sophia Cathedral dates back to the Middle Ages and has been restored over the years in the Baroque style. There are several notable cultural museums in the city.

For those interested in Belarus's rich textile industry, there is the Museum of Traditional Textiles, as well as the Museum of Belarusian Printing, which contains examples of works dating back to the 16th century.

A quirky and eccentric spot in the city of Brest, located near the southwestern border of Belarus, the Railway Museum contains fifty-six trains and features steam locomotives, steam cranes, diesel trains and even a snow plow.

The museum opened in 2002 to showcase train travel in Belarus and is the country's first open-air museum.

There are several festivals held on site, so check the listings when you go to see what's on throughout the year.

If you fancy a day trip from Minsk, head to the Dudutki Ethnological Museum Complex to step back in time and enjoy the history and folklore of Belarus.

Furthermore, the museum complex features local handicrafts and offers a glimpse into the local traditions of the Belarusian people.

You can learn how ancient horseshoes are made and watch local potters at work, and you can even stay on site in one of the guest houses that feature a traditional Belarusian sauna.

Another big attraction of the museum complex is the creamery featuring traditional cheese and cheese making techniques that allow you to taste local cuisine, and there is a small tavern where you can enjoy a typical Belarusian meal.

Nesvizh is famous for its medieval castle, also known as Nesvizh Castle.

The building is a mixture of Baroque and Renaissance styles, and was completed in the 17th century.
